Accumulation of earwax blocking the external auditory canal is one of the most common causes of short-term hearing loss. If you believe that earwax is the source of temporary hearing loss, you almost certainly want to clean your ears. Although this is a natural desire, you must understand how to safely clean your ears without damaging your hearing or the sensitive tissues of your ears.
For effective ear cleaning at home, you only need a syringe or a type of bulb (available at any pharmacy) and a special solution for rinsing your ears. You can purchase carbamide peroxide solution at the pharmacy, or mix your own solution with mineral oil and glycerin using the same dose of 3% to 4%.
To use the solution, gently squeeze the solution into your ear with a syringe or bulb. It is usually best to put a towel on your hand to catch any dripping water. Avoid touching the ear with a syringe or light bulb whenever possible. The solution takes a while to work, so put it in each ear for a few minutes and repeat the other ear.
After the rinse has softened and loosened the earwax, rinse the ears with warm water and then dry the ears thoroughly with a soft towel, taking care not to stick them in the ear canal. If your ears still seem to be blocked, repeat it several times a day for 2-3 days. If the problem persists, please consult your audiologist or audiologist.
